Every tree limb overhead seems to sit and wait, while every step you take becomes a twist of fate.
Up on the watershed, standing at the fork in the road...

Ear Feeding

J: Feeding Ari in her kitchen highchair, "Babe...? I don't think we have a Mensa candidate here."

A: From living room, "Why is that?"

J: "She's feeding herself through the ear." (Truly - she was trying to stuff individual spiral noodles right into her ear canal while staring him down with a very focused expression.)

I don't know, I think that's pretty amazingly innovative if you ask me. Food tastes good going through the mouth, I'm sure she assumes that through the ear means twice as many yummy food delivery holes.

  5. Hi - as for the bassinet...we were very persistent, and we probably looked a little desperate. First we called Emirates to confirm - they said, no bassinet available. Next we went into Addis to the Dembel building to "confirm" in person... a lady bent over backwards for us to get us "reassigned" - there were several phone calls back and forth with her before we departed. At the Addis airport, we were again told no bassinet... we basically just stood there and calmly/kindly insisted, described our visit to the Dembel building, and finally got the bassinet to Dubai. ON THE AIRPLANE, someone was in our seat! So, we talked to an attendant who - somehow - moved the other passengers. (Again, I think we looked haggard and desperate... because we WERE!) Once in Dubai, we confirmed at EVERY desk (there were like 3 or 4 different people we talked to) and every person "reassigned" us... it was really ridiculous. But I think I would have gone off the deep end without that bassinet. It was a long trip even with the extra space. I was never so glad to get home. -R
